Amy Dowden: Strictly Come Dancing pro’s twin sister REVEALED in moving update

Strictly Come Dancing professional Amy Dowden took to social media yesterday to reveal how proud she is of her twin sister Rebecca.

The 28-year-old TV star, who joined the cast of the BBC ballroom dancing show back in 2017, shared a post online to wish her sister good luck on her first day back at work.

Rebecca, who is known to all as Becky, is a midwife for the NHS.

Alongside a picture of the pair, Amy told her fans she was "so proud" of her sibling.

The dancer wrote: "So proud of my twin sister @becky_dowden and wishing her the very best of luck in her new job and first day back for the NHS during a time of need for our country!"

"Grateful and lucky to have you!" she added.

Referring to her Art in Motion dance studio where Becky is a dance teacher, Amy went on to say: "Your @artinmotion.dance loves you so much and is so very proud of you!"

The Strictly star signed off with the hashtags: "#midwife #nhs #proudtwin #staysafe."

Instagram users and fans headed straight to the comments section to share their thoughts and wish Rebecca good luck on her first day back at work during this unprecedented time.

One user wrote: "Beautiful sisters! Good luck Becky always stay safe lovely lady, doing an amazing job!"

Another added: "Good luck Becky in your new job, we take our hats off to you and all the nhs workers."

A third said: "Please pass on all our thanks so your sister knows just how grateful the country is for all that she, and the NHS does," while a fourth remarked: "So grateful."

Not all of Amy's fans realised she was a twin, with one user simply remarking: "I never knew this."

The good looking siblings grew up in Caerphilly, a town in South Wales and have both been dancing from a young age.

In the social media snap, Amy and Becky both sport long dark tresses and big smiles.
