According to rumors, Samsung plans to compete with Apple’s newly advanced cameras by providing its upcoming Galaxy S11 smartphone with a 108-megapixel camera. According to Bloomberg and other sources , the S11 will not only come up with a108-megapixel sensor for the main camera, but the smartphone will also support three more cameras on the back including an ultra-wide-angle lens and 5x optical zoom. According to Engadget, the smartphone will supposedly contain a “Time of Flight” sensor. The sensor can perform depth detection to assist increased reality functions.

There is also a rumor that Samsung is going to announce soon Galaxy Fold “clamshell device” that will use a 108-megapixel camera as well. Xiaomi‘s coming Mi Mix Alpha will also use a 108-megapixel sensor. If the rumors prove to be correct, this would be the first time Samsung has modernized its megapixel sensor since 2016’s Galaxy S7 and its 12-megapixel sensor.

Early rumors about Samsung’s Galaxy S11 proposed that the phone would have a large camera bump, and now the users got a better idea from the rumors of what that bump might hold. This new report from Bloomberg about Samsung’s flagship phone for 2020 has made all the users’ excited.The108-megapixel sensor for its leading camera along with discrete ultra-wide and 5x telephoto lenses are certainly attractive features. The phone is also reported to have a time-of-flight sensor, like Galaxy Note 10 Plus.

The phone is rumored to be introduced in February worldwide. It’s not clear whether this phone will use the flip phone-like idea or not.

Samsung’s 108-megapixel sensor is a known quality — Xiaomi’s futuristic Mi Mix Alpha will use the same module, and it’s already offered on the Mi Note 10. But Samsung is innovating enough by making a big bet on its technological aspect. Samsung has placed itself into the highest-profile phone range through innovative techniques. We know that updated Megapixels aren’t everything, but it seems like the Galaxy S11’s camera will offer the most updated features in comparison to its predecessor in a long time.
